In the framework of the Year of Finland in Karelia the National Library of the Republic of Karelia opened an exhibition The Grand Duchy of Finland: 100 years with Russia (1809 - 1917).

February 28, 2017:
The National Library of the Republic of Karelia held a creative program Let’s Read the Runes of Kalevala. Librarians of the National Library of Karelia and the D. I. Gusarov Central City Library of Petrozavodsk read world famous epic poem Kalevala in Russian, Finnish, Karelian and Vepsian.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition From Kalevala to Pohjola was held in the Children’s Museum Centre of the Kizhi Museum.

The Chitka Project of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia held a performance in Kondopoga, at the Kravchenko Central Library. A play Pinezhsky Pushkin (Eng. Pushkin of Pinega) was shown to schoolchildren and adults with the full house.
