20/01/2026. Foreign/Own: "A Romantic of Fantastic Realism" Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann
This year, the first meeting of the Foreign/Own project was dedicated to the writer celebrating his anniversary, Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, and his famous fairy tale, The Nutcracker, fragments of which the participants translated into the Karelian language.

Our young patrons took part in the interactive Christmas program The Nutcracker: Secrets of the Flickering Lights. The children immersed themselves in a magical atmosphere, helping Marie and the Nutcracker defeat the wily mice.
26/12/2025. Results of the exhibition Let’s Read about the Arctic at the National Library of Karelia
An educational exhibition Let’s Read about the Arctic worked at the exhibition hall of the National Library from October 9 until December 19, 2025. The exhibition is timed to coincide with a significant date – the 500th anniversary of the Northern Sea Route – and was supported by the Project Office for Arctic Development (PORA).

In order to mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the National Library's online project Names in the History of Karelia has been expanded to include the names of Heroes of the Soviet Union who fought in the Great Patriotic War on the Karelian Front.

A delegation of representatives from the International Council for the Roerich Heritage and the Standing Commission of the Union of Museums of Russia paid a working visit to Petrozavodsk, the National Library of Karelia, and the Karelian Centre of Nicholas Roerich.
