The National Library of Karelia was marked with a special prize – a subscription to the magazine Universitetskaya Kniga (Eng. University Book) in 2022 for participation in the Rudomino Awards competition, organized by All-Russian state library for foreign literature named after M. I. Rudomino.

The annual cultural festival Kalevala mosaic is ending. This year, on the 9th of April, the 220th anniversary of Elias Lönnrot (1802 - 1884), the author and compiler of the Kalevala epic poem, Finnish scientist, folklorist, linguist and doctor, is celebrated.
