The National Library of Karelia hosted the XX scientific conference Local Studies Days 2025. The theme of the conference was The History and Culture of Karelia in the Focus of Local History Research: 20 Years in Dialogue.
18/02/2026. Foreign/Own: translations of the fairy-tales by the Brothers Grimm into Karelian
The program of the Foreign/Own project was dedicated to the legendary storytelling duo, the Brothers Grimm. The project's participants translated eighteen fairy tales into the Livvik dialect of the Karelian language.
12/02/2026. Presentation of Dmitry Moskin's book "A Journey with Yuri Linnik: Kizhi Island and Its Cosmic Outskirts"
At the conference hall of the National Library of Karelia, people who remember and appreciate the work of our famous townsman Yuri Linnik gathered together. These meetings have been held at our library twice a year for the past eight years.
10/02/2026. Cooperation with the National Library of Belarus
Since 2024, the National Library of Karelia has cooperated with the National Library of Belarus in order to exchange books and mutually benefit library collections. The parties regularly exchange bibliographic information about documents from the libraries' exchange collections.
08/02/2026. Karelia, Open to All: A Program at the Art-Winter in the Old Town Festival
The National Library of Karelia took part in the museum event Art-Winter in the Old Town of the Kizhi Open-Air Museum with an interactive program Karelia, Open to All, dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
