25/12/2020. The National Library's partnership project with the city of Kalajoki creates a festive mood
Since autumn 2020, the National Library of the Republic of Karelia and the Administration of the city of Kalajoki (Finland), as part of their participation in the Russian-Finnish Cultural Forum, have implemented a joint initiative to familiarize the audience on both sides of the border with the New Year and Christmas traditions.

For the first time in the history of the event, the National Library of Karelia, like many other Russian libraries, held Pushkin Day of Russia and Russian Language Day in the virtual mode.

Creative and educative online-program Fairy Karelia dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia. The program is based on the plot and heroes of the Karelian and Finnish epic poem Kalevala, which is one of the most famous literary works of the past.
