On May 15, the National Library of Karelia hosted the Final Conference of the project “Forward to the Past: Cooperation of NGOs, local libraries and museums in studying the history of Karelia in the second half of the twentieth century”.
15/05/2025. ‘Slavonic Dictation’ was written in the library
On 15 May the National Library of the Republic of Karelia joined the International Cultural and Educational Action ‘Slavonic Dictation’. The purpose of the dictation is to popularise knowledge about the history, traditions and cultural heritage of the Slavic peoples.
10/05/2025. The educational marathon ‘Poets at War and About War’ has come to it`s end!
The marathon ‘Poets at War and About War’, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, was held by the National Library of Karelia from 3 March to 10 May. The methodological set of the marathon was built around video recordings of nine poems by Soviet poets whose lives were affected by the Great Patriotic War.
09/05/2025. «In wartime severe life…”: the library took part in the celebration of Victory Day
On May 9, the National Library of Karelia took part in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The bookmobile was located in the very center of the festive area, at the intersectio of Kuibyshev Street and Karl Marx Avenue.

On May 7 the National Library of Karelia hosted a literary and musical programm “The Soldier`s Word” dedicated to Karelian writers who fought in the Great Patriotic War and celebrated their anniversaries in 2025.
06/05/2025. Presentation of the book by Alexander Vedeneyev “Classical Autumn”
On May 6 the National Library of Karelia hosted a meeting with the poet, member of the Union of Writers of Russia Alexander Vedeneyev and the presentation of his book “Classial Autumn”.
29/04/2025. The exhibition “Karelia.History in Stone” has closed at the National Library
On April 27 the geological exhibition “Karelia. History in Stone” ended its work. The exhibition “Karelia. History in Stone” was exhibited in the National Library from April 6 as a part of the project “Stone Chronicle on Karelia” supported by the Grant Fund of the Head of the Republic of Karelia.
