December 17, 2016:
The National Library of the Republic of Karelia held a holiday program Christmas without Borders attended by members of national public organizations of Petrozavodsk. The guests learned about celebration of Christmas and New Year in Finland, Poland and the Republic of Karelia and about New Year traditions and rituals of these peoples.
16/12/2016. Robert Rozhdestvensky and Karelia
December 14, 2016:
The National Library held a presentation of the book Vera’s Son: Robert Rozhdestvensky and Karelia. The book was prepared by the National Writer of Karelia Marat Tarasov, who have made friends with the poet from his student years, and the Honored Journalist of Karelia Yury Shleikin. The book was published with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia in the publishing house Ostrova.

November 19, 2016:
The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration held the Forum of the Peoples of Karelia attended by heads and specialists of national cultural organizations of Karelia, representatives of religious confessions, heads and specialists of public authorities of the Republic of Karelia, teachers and students of RANEPA, Petrozavodsk State University, Petrozavodsk College of Municipal Services and schoolchildren of Petrozavodsk.

Petrozavodsk branch of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg together with the National Library of Karelia and the Institute of Finland in St. Petersburg organized the Exhibition of photographs The Golden Generation. Modernism in the Finnish Architecture and Design.

November 2, 2016:
The National Library of Karelia opened an exhibition The Bridges of Budapest. The exhibition was opened by the Consul General of Hungary in St. Petersburg Mr. Ferenc Nagy-Rébék and the Head of the National Library of Karelia Marina Nikishina. The opening ceremony was attended by the Consul for Economic and Commercial Affairs Adam Stifter.
