16/05/2018. XXIII Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association in Vladimir
The Head of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia Marina Nikishina took part in the Russian Library Congress: XXIII Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association, which was held on May, 12th – 18th in Vladimir, the Library Capital of Russia 2018. The Congress, which the Russian Library Association holds annually in May, on the eve of the Russian Library Day, is the key and largest event of the year in the library sector.

April 26, 2018:
The National Library of Karelia held the awarding ceremony of the XVIII Contest “The Book of the Year 2017 of the Republic of Karelia”. The event was attended by representatives of the founders and organizers of the competition, members of the expert groups, publishers and authors, distributors of book production and reading lovers.

One of the oldest print publications of the Republic of Karelia - the literary, art and socio-political magazine Carelia in Finnish, Karelian and Vepsian languages celebrates its anniversary.
On the 2nd of March 2018, the National Library of the Republic of Karelia held a solemn evening dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Carelia magazine.
02/03/2018. To the international Kalevala Day
February 28, 2018:
The National Library of Karelia gathered together gathered admirers and friends of the Karelo-Finnish epic poem Kalevala.
In Russia Year 2018 is dedicated to the art of ballet dance. Therefore, the program Kalevala on the Theatrical Stage presented the main performances based on the epic poem and made by the leading theatrical and folk groups of Petrozavodsk, besides the stories from the newsreel "Soviet Karelia" and fragments from performances were shown.

February 22, 2018:
Tarvo Nieminen, the Consul of the Petrozavodsk branch of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg, visited the Karelian Center of the Saint-Petersburg state Roerich family Museum and Institute opened at the National Library of Karelia.
