30/10/2017. The great poet of small peoples
October 27, 2017:
In the National Library of Karelia the badge The People’s Writer of the Republic of Karelia was given to Nikolai Abramov. The title was awarded to the writer posthumously. The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia Aleksei Lesonen solemnly handed over the memorial sign to the relatives of the writer.
17/10/2017. The readers of the National Library of Karelia celebrated its’ birthday in new and spacious spaces

For the first time since the reconstruction, the renovated library has opened its doors to readers and guests.

Master classes for schoolchildren and a seminar for teachers of German were held by the German Goethe Cultural Center of St. Petersburg in the framework of the Days of Germany in Petrozavodsk in the National Library of Karelia.

The National Library of Karelia held a meeting with Finnish writer, poet, translator Marja-Leena Mikkola and a presentation of the author’s book YLISTYS, hiljaa! (Eng. Quiet, praise!) composed of translations of poems by Marina Tsvetaeva.

Since 2000, the Festival of Karelian Poetry "Tas synnynrannan minun algu" (Eng. Here My Motherland Is Beginning.) dedicated to the people's writer of Karelia Vladimir Brendoev has been held in the Olonets national municipal district.
