29/04/2021. The presentation of the audio version of the Mari poem ”Yugorno”
April 28, 2021:
The National Library of Karelia held a presentation of the audio version of the Mari poem ”Yugorno”. The big epic poem ”Yugorno” by Anatoly Spiridonov is one of the most significant works revealing the Mari national character, it is rightfully called the poetic encyclopedia of the life of the Mari people. For many years, the Regional Public Organization "Mari of Karelia" has been working in Karelia under the leadership of M. A. Asessorov. "Mari of Karelia" develops the culture and language of the Mari people, and preserves the unique heritage of the Mari people.
27/04/2021. The awarding ceremony of the XXI competition "The Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia 2020"
April 23, 2021:
The National Library of Karelia held the awarding ceremony of the XXI competition "The Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia 2020". The ceremony was attended by representatives of founders and organizers of the competition, members of expert groups, publishers and authors, distributors of book products, and lovers of reading.

April 24, 2021:
The National Library of Karelia took part in the All-Russian campaign BiblioNight 2021. The events of this year were dedicated to science, technologies and the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space. The Book Universe has become an irreplaceable navigator in space discoveries for children and adults.
15/04/2021. The key event in the cultural life of Karelia: the program of the XXV Conference of the Russian Library Association
Russian Library Congress: XXV Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association will be held with face-to-face and virtual participation with a limited number of face-to-face participants in Petrozavodsk.
The face-to-face participation will be organized with special invitations of the Organizing Committee (for the members of the board of the Russian Library Association, heads and representatives of sections and round table discussions, invited speakers and conference moderators).
The main events will be held on the premises of the National Library of Karelia.
10/04/2021. Kalevala on the Theater Stage
The 9th of April is the birthday of Elias Lönnrot (1802-1884), a Finnish scientist, folklorist, who made runes used among the people world famous on the pages of the Karelian and Finnish epic poem Kalevala.
On the 9th of April, the traditional Kalevala Marathon ends. This day, the National Library of Karelia presents a brief overview of bright performances on stages of the leading theatres of Petrozavodsk since 1935 up to the present day.

In 2021, the All-Russian project "Live Classics” turns 10 years. For a whole decade, the competition for young readers has contributed to an increase in the interest of schoolchildren in reading fiction literature, finding and supporting children gifted in the field of theatrical art and public speaking.
