07/04/2014. Opening the Information and Education Centers – Virtual Branches of the Russian Museum
On the 27th of February 2014 in the Joensuu Regional Library and on the 27th of March 2014 in the Kajaani City Library Information and Education Centers – Virtual Branches of the Russian Museum were opened. Specialists of the National Library of Karelia took part in this event.
New computers were installed. Now library users can get acquainted with unique collection of the museum presented in the form of multimedia programs and films in Virtual Branches of the Russian Museum in these libraries. The events were a part of a project “Libraries are changing: new forms of library work for the local community”.
The opening ceremonies were attended by cultural community and officials of Kajaani and Joensuu. An exhibition "The Inspiring World of Kalevala" prepared by specialists of the National Library of Karelia was presented. Posters by Tamara Jufa and Nikolai Kochergin aroused great interest among Finnish visitors.
