The National Library of Karelia started a literary program of the Big Children’s Festival EHO BDF – Karelia. The Big Children's Festival has been held since 2018 as part of the implementation of the federal project "Culture of a Small Motherland".
The festival is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Moscow Region. A varied program of events has been prepared for readers: meetings with famous authors of books for children and teenagers.
Maria Orlova, producer of the teenage media about literature "Lift", organizer of the charitable book market "Fonar", host of the podcast about children's literature and curator of the BDF Book program of the Big Children's Festival, spoke about the history and goals of the Big Children's Festival.
The first meeting of young readers within the framework of the Big Children's Festival took place with the famous children's writer Asya Kravchenko.
Asya Kravchenko is not only an author of books for children and youth, but also a psychologist, journalist and creator of children's programs in the largest scientific museum in the country – the Polytechnic Museum.
Together with the writer, inquisitive children plunged into the world of science and experiments, asked the guest a huge number of difficult questions, took part in the workshop "How a Human is Arranged", which was conducted based on the materials of the "Science in Your Pocket" project (Rozovyi Zhiraf publishing house together with the Polytechnic museum).
While participating in scientific experiments, the children were surprised, rejoiced, turned the incomprehensible into understandable, received new knowledge and interesting facts about the structure of the world!
