02/04/2023. The Children’s Book Week 2023 at the National Library of Karelia
March 25 – April 2, 2023:
The National Library of Karelia took part in the annual All-Russian event Children’s Book Week, which has turned 80 years old this year!
Library specialists have prepared many interesting literary surprises for readers. A varied program of events awaited our guests – meetings with famous children's writers, workshops by illustrators, discussions about children's literature, excursions and creative programs, quizzes and games for all ages.
According to a good tradition, the National Library of Karelia and the Puppet Theatre of Karelia invited little guests and adult participants of the Children’s Book Week to take part in the literary game Animals – heroes of books by Kipling before the play The Big World of Little Taffy based on books by R. Kipling. Together we went on an exciting interactive adventure through the life story and works of the author and discovered the secrets of the Jungle Book!
Three creative meetings took place within the framework of the Week. Our guests were:
– Olga Lavrentyeva – painter and comic book writer form St. Petersburg;
– Tatyana Dudinova – Karelian writer;
– Ilya Polunitsyn – Karelian children’s writer, author of wonderful fairy tales.
All meetings were fabulous! Young readers had a fun and interesting time: they talked with the authors, learned the secrets of writing and further creative ideas, played skits with the heroes of the books, solved quizzes and played entertaining games.
As a part of Children’s Book Week, a Pupil’s Day and a Student’s Day took place, and excursion programs were held for those wishing to get to know our library better.
Today, the All-Russian event Children's Book Week 2023: A Story with a Continuation has ended at the National Library of Karelia. Nine hundred people attended 15 events of the Book Week this year.
We thank you, our friends, for being with us all these cheerful and happy days! Let the book remain our faithful friend and helper! The story continues!
