18/10/2024. "The Price of a Man". Educational program for the 100th anniversary of Dmitry Gusarov

The National Library of Karelia held The Price of a Man educational program for the 100th anniversary of Dmitry Gusarov, writer, journalist, partisan of the Karelian Front during the Great Patriotic War, People's Writer of Karelia and Honorary Citizen of the city of Petrozavodsk.
Visitors saw video materials and photographs from the collections of the National Library, the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia and Karelian Television. Audio recordings of the memoirs of D. Gusarov about his work on the book Beyond the Line of Mercy and I. M. Gin, who had worked for many years in the editorial office of the Sever magazine, where Dmitry Yakovlevich had been the legendary editor for 36 years, were played.
Admirers of the writer's work were presented with a rare collection of books with dedications to the staff of the National Library, literary critic I. M. Gin and philologist, teacher of Petrozavodsk State University L. N. Kolesova. Of interest were valuable materials from readers' conferences on the discussion of books by D. Gusarov, held at the circulation department of the Public Library of the Karelian ASSR in 1963 and 1969.
The honorary guest of the program was Gusarov’s daughter, Natalya Gusarova, philologist and teacher. She left the most positive feedback about the program and thanked the employees of the National Library for their educational work to preserve the memory of Dmitry Gusarov.
Books and articles by the writer and journalist D. Gusarov, as well as literature dedicated to his creative and life path, are presented at the book exhibition “The Price of a Person: on the 100th Anniversary of D. Gusarov’s Birth”, which will be on display at the National Library until December 2024.
