12/02/2026. Presentation of Dmitry Moskin's book "A Journey with Yuri Linnik: Kizhi Island and Its Cosmic Outskirts"

At the conference hall of the National Library of Karelia, people who remember and appreciate the work of our famous townsman Yuri Linnik gathered together.
These meetings have been held at our library twice a year for the past eight years. This time, the main event was the presentation of the electronic version of the book "A Journey with Yuri Linnik: Kizhi Island and Its Cosmic Outskirts" by Dmitry Moskin, Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Karelia, artist, cartoonist, journalist, designer, and friend of Yuri Linnik. The book's presentation aroused considerable interest, particularly for book’s original design and skillful organization of materials. The presentations by the book's co-authors, Irina Larionova and Lyubov Byurkland, were also interesting.
Marina Danilova, Chief Keeper and Head of the Storage Department of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, spoke about the collection of Yuri Linnik at the National Library of the Republic of Karelia;
Medina Kayumova, Chief Archivist of the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia, prepared a review of documents from Linnik’s personal collection, stored in the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia.
Inna Gokkoeva, activist at the Soglasie Social and Cultural Centre and member of the Almanakh club, vividly described the hero of Yuri Linnik's book, "Sergei Volov," introducing Volov and his wife, Galina, to the participants in the meeting.
The event was attended by Natalia Linnik, Yuri Linnik’s widow. She came to us from Kolomna especially to tell about the work with Yuri Linnik’s collections at the Museum of Organic Culture.
At the end, Ildar Safarov, Candidate of Psychological Sciences and practicing psychologist, proposed publishing Yuri Linnik's doctoral dissertation, which is currently highly relevant, and Lyudmila Morozova, Chair of the Karelian Republican Council of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, proposed creating a joint museum of Nicholas Roerich and Yuri Linnik in Sortavala.
Anatoli Gusarov, one of the leaders of the Sortavala community, and Elena Soini, Doctor of Philology and author of books about Nicholas Roerich, expressed satisfaction with the event and their willingness to continue participating in the preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage of the Republic of Karelia.
