28/10/2016. Viacheslav Agapitov’s The Challenge of the North
The Saturday evening drew capacity audience in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia. The library held a creative meeting with Viacheslav Agapitov The Challenge of the North which opened the series of events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of conferment of the status of the National Library to our library.
Viacheslav Agapitov is a universally talented person famous in Karelia. He is a historian, ethnographer, poet, artist, translator, writer, public figure, a good friend of the National Library of Karelia and its old patron. Viacheslav Agapitov is a participant of several library projects. During the event poems were read in the Zaonezhye dialect, one of northern Russian dialects, because Viacheslav Agapitov made a great contribution to saving and development of the Zaonezhye dialect.
All guests got as a present poetry collection Testenniki in the Zaonezhye dialect which had been recently released with financial support of the Ministry of the Republic of Karelia for National Politics, Relations with Public and Religious Associations and Mass Media.
