30/06/2018. The Tale of the North is Deep and Captivating: a new exhibition at the Karelian Center of Nicholas Roerich

At the Karelian Center of Nicholas Roerich of the National Library of Karelia, a solemn opening of an exhibition of facsimiles of paintings by outstanding painter Nicholas Roerich was opened.
”The Tale of the North is Deep and Captivating…”, these words from the essay Underground Russia by N. K. Roerich gave a name of facsimile exhibition organized in the year of the hundredth anniversary of the stay of the Roerich family in Karelia (1916–1918).
The exhibition is about the Northern theme in the works by N. K. Roerich. The exhibition presents more than 40 works accompanied by information materials, photos and rare editions. The new exhibition is another one present made by the Saint-Petersburg state Roerich family Museum and Institute to the residents of Petrozavodsk, it is a kind of congratulations on the 315th anniversary of Petrozavodsk.
At the solemn opening of the new exhibition in the National Library a welcome speech and an invitation to the exhibition were made by the Head of Saint-Petersburg state Roerich family Museum and Institute Aleksei Bondarenko, the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia Varvara Lebedeva, the Head of the National Library of Karelia Marina Nikishina and the Head of the Karelian Center of Nicholas Roerich Liliana Zhokhova. Our partners, representatives of Saint-Petersburg state Roerich family Museum and Institute conducted an excursion to a new exhibition for all comers.
The National Library invites visitors and residents of Petrozavosk to visit the new exhibition at the Karelian Center of Nicholas Roerich. The exhibition is open for everyone.
