01/06/2018. The Head of the Republic met with leaders of women's non-governmental organizations
At the National Library of Karelia, the Head of the Republic Artur Parfenchikov met with leaders of women's non-governmental organizations of Karelia.
The round table discussion Family, Motherhood and Childhood was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Library, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Valentina Pivnenko, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Oksana Pushkina, as well as representatives of ministries and departments of Karelia, leaders of the women's movement, non-profit and public organizations from Petrozavodsk and the districts of the republic.
Presentations were made by the Supernumerary Adviser of the Head of the Republic of Karelia on Social Policy Issues, the Head of the Karelian Center of Nicholas Roerich in the National Library of Karelia Liliana Zhokhova, a member of the Public Chamber Elena Aksentieva and other activists of the women's movement of Karelia, including representatives of the districts.
The women's movement in the region has a century-old history, and next year it will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Only in recent decades, in close contact with the regional and municipal authorities, women's organizations, among other public figures, managed to bring a number of legislative initiatives to the level of the region and Russia, and to develop and implement several regional programs that were financed from the budget and helped in problem solving.
