02/09/2016. The Knowledge Day in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia
September 1, 2016:
On the Knowledge Day the National Library of the Republic of Karelia invited children and adults to take part in the program I Want to Know Everything.
From the Past to the Future was the motto of the campaign I Want to Know Everything dedicated to the beginning of the school year. Vasilisa the Wise and Alisa Selezneva, the hero of the past and the hero of the future, were the symbols of the event.
The children got acquainted with old text books and dictionaries, tried to write with a real fountain pen, and adults remembered their childhood at the exhibition of the Museum of Folk Education History and the exhibition Books of Our Childhood.
Students of the 6th form played with interest a board game Miles and People of the Russian Empire based on ancient maps. At the same time students of the 5th form imagined themselves in the future with Alisa Selezneva: traveled to space, deciphered radiograms and saved aliens. A creative game The School of the Future helped them to imagine this school and also to develop their creative skills, it rallied the children during defencing of the projects.
Everyone could make bookmarks, take part in quizzes, observe and try to perform different experiments by themselves (in the field of Geometry, Physics, Chemistry), take a photo in the image of a schoolchild of the past or a schoolchild of the future, play with robots together with a teacher Ansastasia who is working at the Center for Intellectual Development Pifagorka. This year the weather did not disappoint, so outdoor games with Vasilisa the Wise were very popular among children.
