23/09/2016. The Finno-Ugric Media Forum started in Karelia
September 21-22, 2016:
The International Finno-Ugric Media Forum THE FINNO-UGRIC WORLD. FOCUS ON KARELIA was held in Petrozavodsk. The Forum is aimed at consideration of development of the Finno-Ugric information space of Russia, strengthening the journalistic community, increasing the professionalism and creativity of regional national media workers.
The Forum is attended by delegations from Karelia, Komi, Mari El, Mordovia, Udmurtia, Vologda, Leningrad, Moscow and Tver regions, Nenets, Komi-Permyak and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
On the 21st of September the Forum was opened in Petrozavodsk and a panel discussion The Finno-Ugric National Media: a Look at the Regions and Ethnic Groups was organized. During the day work was organized in workshops: National Periodicals; National TV and Radio Journalism; Cinema in Karelia and about Karelia. During the group work participants discussed development of periodicals, TV and Radio Journalism, cinema and Internet projects in Finno-Ugric languages.
On the 21st of September the National Library of the Republic of Karelia held a workshop on the theme The Finno-Ugric World Online. During the round table discussion the National Library of Karelia presented its own Internet projects: The Finno-Ugric Libraries of Russia, The Electronic Library of the Authors of Karelia, The Literary Map of Karelia.
