26/02/2018. The Consul of Finland Tarvo Nieminen visited the National library

Tarvo Nieminen, the Consul of the Petrozavodsk branch of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg, visited the Karelian Center of the Saint-Petersburg state Roerich family Museum and Institute opened at the National Library of Karelia. The meeting was attended by Aleksei Lesonen, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, Aleksei Bondarenko, the Head of the Saint-Petersburg state Roerich family Museum and Institute, Marina Nikishina, Liliana Zhokhova, the Head of the Karelian Center of Nicholas Roerich.
The guests got acquainted with the exhibits of the exhibition The Paths of Nicholas Roerich, facsimile copies of four paintings by the world-famous artist, scientist and public figure, and noted the high quality of presented materials.
The participants of the meeting discussed possible ways of cooperation on preservation and actualization of the common cultural heritage of Karelia and Finland using as an example works by N. K. Roerich.
A rough plan of joint events was outlined: book presentations, preparation of materials for joint conferences, exchange of experience in organization of exhibitions, creation of a joint tourist route in accordance with the cross-border cooperation program.
