31/05/2016. The 9th Summer School for Rural Librarians of the Republic of Karelia has started

The National Library of Karelia opened the 9th Summer School for Rural Librarians of the Republic of Karelia. The theme of the school is Modern Rural Library.
The event is being held with the participation and support of the Library Association of the Republic of Karelia, the V. F. Morozov Children Library of the Republic of Karelia, the Centralized Library System of Petrozavodsk urban district and Petrozavodsk Central D. Y. Gusarov Library, Petrovskaya Secondary School, the Centralized Library System of Olonets and the Olonets National N. Prilukin Museum of Livvik Karelians.
The Summer School is attended by 24 rural librarians from Belomorsky, Pryazhinsky, Pitkyarantsky, Louhsky, Kondopozhsky, Muezersky and other municipal districts of the Republic of Karelia. The first day in the Summer School was dedicated to the theme Projects, Programs, Resources and Services of the National Library of Karelia to the municipal libraries of Karelia. A round table discussion on the topic The Role of a Municipal Library in the Life of Local Community was held. Specialists of the National Library presented resources and services, new interactive projects and play methods as a new form of book and reading promotion, youth projects for modern library, cultural and tourist multimedia program By Lönnrot’s Trail. The participants of the Summer School had an excursion to the National Library.
