Presentation of the new edition of the book "Karelian tales" prepared by the publishing house Ostrova was held in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia.
The tales included in the collection had been collected on the territory Karelia in 1940-1960 and were translated into Russian by well-known scientists U. S. Konkka, A. S. Stepanova and E. G. Karhu. The tales were illustrated by famous Karelian graphic artist and the Honored artist of the Republic of Karelia Nikolai Bruhanov (1908-2004).
The book "Karelian tales" with illustrations by Nikolai Bruhanov has been republished in Karelia for the fourth time. However, since the recent release of the book in 1982 more than twenty years have passed, several generations of children have grown, so the collection of tales arouses great interest of readers.
At the presentation of the new and well-known edition of “Karelian tales” our visitors plunged into the atmosphere of childhood, listened to tales and watched cartoons of various years based on the Karelian tales.
