07/08/2025. Names in the history of Karelia: A. N. Tikhonov - documentary writer
In October 2025, 85 years have passed since the publication of the first (july) issue of the monthly literary, artistic and socio-political magazine "At the Turn" (now - "North").
By the important anniversary date of Karelian culture, the Internet resource of the National Library of Karelia "Names in the History of Karelia" was replenished with the name of Albert Nazarovich Tikhonov (pseudonym Oleg Tikhonov) (1932-2001) - journalist, writer, playwrighter, editor-in-chief of the magazine "North" from 1990 to 2001, honored worker of culture of Russia and Karelia.
A. N. Tikhonov is a documentary writer. He is the author of famous books - the story "Operation in the Vacuum Zone" (1971) about the heroes of the Sheltozersky underground during the Great Patriotic War, and the documentary novel "Witness" about the legendary chekist, writer of Karelia Toivo Vyakhya (Ivan Mikhailovich Petrov).
The resource "Names in the History of Karelia" presents bio-bibliographic materials and a presentation of photographs by A. N. Tikhonov from the funds of the National Archive and the National Library of Karelia.
