06/09/2013. Knowledge Day in the National Library of Karelia
On the 1st of September the National Library of Karelia held a festival program I Wish to Learn Everything.
Near the library building on Pushkinskaya Street guests visited two mobile libraries. There were the mobile library of the National Library of Karelia with an exhibition History of education in Karelia and a bookstore and a club from Moscow Bamper, where people could buy books.
Little guests of the festival watched a performance The Golden Chicken by Boris Kudryavtsev.
Specialists of the library conducted a workshop My School Story, where post cards were made. At the same time in the library there was a literary quest Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon. Many children wanted do it despite warnings, so Harry Potter fans have gathered there in a few minutes.
Valentina Dvinskaya organized a total dictation, and the bravest guests were not afraid to write it. She also gave a lecture about Russian names.
Amusing Scientific Experiments by Andrey Sheikin aroused a great deal of interest among young physicists and chemists.
Specialists of the National Library made an exhibition, where were unique training manuals of past centuries, magazines and books about the most unbelievable scientific hypotheses of the past. There were dolls by Boris Kudryavtsev and decoupage, scrapbooking and modeling works by Vera Egorova.
Guests took photos in pictures of tsar and tsarina and checked their knowledge of Romanov family tree. When the program in the library ended, our guests took part in a walking tour of Pushkinskaya Street and Onega Quay organized by a specialist of the local literature department of the library.
