20/04/2018. I Sing this Song to the Land of Kalevala
The National Library of Karelia held a literature event I Sing this Song to the Land of Kalevala dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People's Writer of Karelia Jakov Rugojev.
On the jubilee evening of the writer his poetry and prose sounded in the performance of the honored artist of Russia, People's Artist of Karelia Vieno Mikshieva, actors of the National Theatre of the Republic of Karelia Julia Kuikka and Andrei Gorshkov and also the specialists of the National Library of Karelia. The writer's son Reino Rugojev and Elena Markova, the Head of the Sector of Literary Studies of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of Karelian Research Centre of RAS, who had personally known Jakov Rugojev, shared their memories. The premiere of a new song composed by musician Evgeny Shorokhov on the writer's words took place. Poetry by the author sounded at the evening in a new way presented in the internet project of 2018. The project was created by journalists of the Television and Radio Company Karelia and their friends. The audience saw the film of the National Library of Karelia (author N. Heikinen, 2013), videos from the newsreel Soviet Karelia (the collection of the National Archive of the Republic of Karelia) and also video from the archive of the Television and Radio Company Karelia and Ortjo Stepanov Foundation.
