01/11/2024. Creative meeting with Oleg Moshnikov

The National Library of Karelia held a meeting with Oleg Moshnikov, poet, prose writer, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, dedicated to the writer's anniversary.
Oleg Moshnikov is a long-time friend of the library and a welcome guest, an active participant in the literary Internet project Electronic Library of Authors of Karelia. The writer's books are widely represented in the collection of the National Library.
The creative evening was opened by Honoured Artist of Russia and Karelia Irina Shishkanova, who performed melodies on the kantele of her own composition.
A great gift for admirers of Oleg Moshnikov's work was a presentation of a new collection of the author's works. The Sun in a Pocket (Rus. «Солнце в кармашке») is a book about childhood that was prepared for the writer's 60th anniversary. At the creative meeting, Moshnikov’s works were performed by the author himself, his relatives and friends, as well as admirers of the poet's work.
For many years, Oleg Moshnikov has been a participant in many events of the Sonet literary club at the National Library of the Republic of Karelia. The Head of the club, Karelian poet and publicist Oleg Galchenko, spoke about Oleg Moshnikov’s works. Dmitry Gorokh read poems dedicated to the hero of the day of his own composition. A musical decoration of the meeting were songs performed by Fyodor Kuzmin, a bard from the village of Martsialnye Vody.
The words of gratitude for loyalty to the literary word in national languages were said by Elena Migunova, Head of the Department of State Support for Indigenous Peoples and Interaction with Public Associations of the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia. Nina Zaitseva, poet, linguist, doctor of philological sciences, Deputy Chairperson of the Veps Culture Society, came to thank the writer for his literary work in the field of translations from the Veps language. Nina Zaitseva presented Oleg Moshnikov with the medal For Loyalty to the North.
The writer was congratulated on his anniversary by Elena Soini, representative of the Union of Writers of Russia, poetess, philologist, literary scholar, employee of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Research Centre of the RAS.
At the end of the meeting, an autograph session with the writer took place, during which the guests of the meeting had the opportunity to personally communicate with the writer and receive an autograph.
