July 27, 2023:
In Karelia, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation together with the Government of the Republic is holding a set of events for the large-scale project Museum Routes of Russia. The goal of the project is to promote museums throughout the country and to stimulate tourist flows to cultural objects. On July 27, a plenary session was held at the National Library of Karelia with the participation of Artur Parfenchikov, Head of the Republic; Larisa Podsadnik, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic for Social Affairs; Alla Manilova, Director General of the State Russian Museum, and heads of the largest federal and regional museums of the country.
As part of the ongoing events, the National Library of Karelia received book gifts that will arouse unconditional interest and will be in demand by readers.
From Rashid Nurgaliyev, First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, an interesting publication – the album "157 Steps to the Anniversary of the Republic of Karelia" – was given by Valentina Pivnenko, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The book-album reflects step by step all stages of the preparation of the republic for the 100th anniversary (2000): from the creation of the State Commission for the Preparation for the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Karelia in 2013 to the setting of tasks and their implementation. The book shows the large-scale joint activities of the federal executive authorities, the Government of the Republic of Karelia, state corporations and organizations with the aim of the integrated development of the region, improving the level and quality of people’s life.
Igor Korneev, Director of the Borodino State Military and Historical Museum-Reserve, presented wonderful books – museum publications that preserve the historical memory of the largest battle of the Patriotic War of 1812 between the Russian Army under the command of Infantry General M. I. Golenishchev-Kutuzov and the Great French Army of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte on August 26 (September 7) near the village of Borodino. Hundreds of thousands of people annually come to the Borodino field to see the site of the Battle of Borodino. Beautifully illustrated books and other publications allow you to join the visitors of the museum, remember in detail the greatest battle, see monuments dedicated to the historical event. Among the given books, there is the book-album “Borodino. 1941 - 1945", reminding everyone living today that the Borodino field is a memorial of two Patriotic wars.
