08/06/2018. Pushkin’s Day of Russia at the National Library of Karelia
June 6, 2018:
The National Library of Karelia celebrated the Pushkin’s Day of Russia and the Russian Language Day.
The holiday coincided with the last school day for many Petrozavodsk students, who became the main guests of this holiday. The literary and musical program of Pushkin's day began with the action Flowers to Pushkin.
01/06/2018. The Head of the Republic met with leaders of women's non-governmental organizations

At the National Library of Karelia, the Head of the Republic Artur Parfenchikov met with leaders of women's non-governmental organizations of Karelia. The round table discussion Family, Motherhood and Childhood was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Library, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Valentina Pivnenko, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Oksana Pushkina, as well as representatives of ministries and departments of Karelia, leaders of the women's movement, non-profit and public organizations from Petrozavodsk and the districts of the republic.
30/05/2018. The 24th of May is the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture
May 24, 2018:
The National Library of Karelia celebrated the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture dedicated to the creators of Slavic writing, Byzantine monks and brothers Cyril and Methodius.
Saints equal-to-the-apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius (IX century) made the first and most important contribution to the development of writing of the Slavs: they created the Slavic alphabet (Cyrillic alphabet) and translated the Gospel into the Slavonic language.

The National Library of the Republic of Karelia held a solemn event dedicated to the All-Russian Day of Libraries.The professional community and veterans of libraries were congratulated by the Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia on Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Policy G. A. Gorelikova, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia A. N. Lesonen, the Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Karelia N. D. Volkova and the Chief Specialist of the Department of Culture and Public Relations of the Administration of Petrozavodsk City District O. M. Anukhina.
22/05/2018. Long Night of Museums 2018: Masterpieces from the storerooms
May 19, 2018:
The National Library of Karelia took part in the Long Night of Museums campaign and presented its interactive program Metamorphoses of Reading.
Metamorphoses occur constantly in human life and in the history of the country. This evening, the mobile library of the National Library of Karelia turned into a time machine, and every visitor could travel to the Soviet Union of 60's, 70's, 80's and Russia of 90's.
17/05/2018. The Library Night 2018 was a great success!
The National Library of Karelia hosted for the first time its guests in a renovated and refurbished building.
Since 2012, the National Library of Karelia has been conducted the Library Night campaign annually. The VII National Library was different, because for the first time the doors of a completely restored building were opened for the guests.
16/05/2018. XXIII Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association in Vladimir
The Head of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia Marina Nikishina took part in the Russian Library Congress: XXIII Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association, which was held on May, 12th – 18th in Vladimir, the Library Capital of Russia 2018. The Congress, which the Russian Library Association holds annually in May, on the eve of the Russian Library Day, is the key and largest event of the year in the library sector.
