The National Library of Karelia presents to the readers a unique collection of tactile books, the main function of which is to help a special child in examining, studying and perceiving the world around him.

Specialists of the National Library of Karelia introduced the readers of Kaliningrad to the Karelian and Finnish epic poem Kalevala. The trip took place within the framework of the Polycultural Cities project in cooperation with the Karelian Public Diplomacy Development Foundation.

Under the guidance of teachers of the Department of the German and French Languages, 3rd year students translated into the main European languages (English, German and French) the brochure “Meanings and Interpretations of Canvases of Nicholas Roerich”.

The National Library of Karelia and Kizhi State Open-Air Museum of History, Architecture and Ethnography held a joint event dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Alexey Avdyshev (1928-1997), poet and artist, Honored Art Worker of the Karelian ASSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
