Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library. 2019
The Karelian Regional Center of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library was ceremoniously opened on October 15, 2019 in the National Library of Karelia.
At the ceremony, I. L. Bykovnikov, Director of the Presidential Library, donated digital copies of publications on the history of Karelia from various central archives in Russia to the National Library of Karelia.
At the Karelian Center of the Presidential Library, users have access to all materials of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library in Saint Petersburg. Its collections include more than 800,000 unique documents that reflect the centuries-old history of Russian statehood. There are available electronic copies of the rarest historical documents, old manuscripts, maps, photo albums, newspapers and monographs, as well as little-known archival materials that were previously closed. Except for printed documents, the Presidential Library collection includes audio and video materials, photographs and news films. In addition, it is possible to visit the virtual exhibitions of the Presidential Library, to see the exhibitions of the most famous museums in Russia.
The Karelian Center’ experts organize video lectures dedicated to current topics and events, prominent historical figures, representatives of Russian science and culture, etc.
Thematic, informational and educational events are organized for schoolchildren, students and various professionals based on the resources of the Presidential Library.
