23/06/2014. Pushkin’s Day in the National Library of Karelia
On the 6th of June 2014 Pushkin’s 215th birthday was celebrated in the National Library of Karelia.
This year poet’s anniversary coincided with the last school day in schools of Petrozavodsk, so there were many schoolchildren in the library. At the beginning of the holiday guests laid flowers to the monument to Pushkin and recited his poetry.
After that there were games dedicated to Pushkin’s fairytales in the library. The youngest guests of the holiday saw an interactive puppet show. Folios of the Pushkin’s time, bright albums and poetry of the famous classic created historical atmosphere of the era and helped to answer questions of quizzes.
In the library there were workshops, where children were doing different decorative items. Soloists of the Musical theatre of the Republic of Karelia Pavel Polyaninov and Natalia Landovskaya sang romances of the 19th century. In the evening in the Musical theatre the opera Eugene Onegin was given.
