On the 25th and 26th of April 2014 the BiblioNight was held in Petrozavodsk by the National Library of Karelia, the Puppet Theatre of the Republic of Karelia, the Library for Children and Youth of the Republic of Karelia, the Library for the Blind of the Republic of Karelia. The BiblioNight is a traditional event aimed at reading promotion.
This evening an event People and Dolls was held in the National Library of Karelia. There were several interesting excursions in the library.
Besides there was a poetic teleconference between Norway and Russia. The participants were reading poems in Norwegian and Russian, and they have to guess themes of these poems. After that they met a famous Russian writer and director Aleksey Simonov, who is a son of a legendary Konstantin Simonov. The atmosphere at the conference was really warm and friendly.
Literary and musical performance “Invitation to Silence. Unfulfilled and Unreachable” continued experiments with poetry. Director Oleg Gureyev, actors of Petrozavodsk theatres and the string quartet Fabelo created a unique fusion of poetry, music and theatre using poetry by Edgar Allan Poe, Joseph Brodsky, Marina Tsvetaeva, Federico Garcia Lorca and Osip Mandelshtam.
In the library there were open workshops, an intellectual game room, a concert of the Drolls band and acoustic concert of the Shipovnik band.
