08/04/2014. A roundtable discussion on Actual problems of book publishing of the Republic of Karelia
On the 21th of March 2014 in the National Library of the Republic of Karelia a roundtable discussion on Actual problems of book publishing of the Republic of Karelia was held.
The roundtable discussion was attended by publishers, printing workers, officials, booksellers, librarians, members of Writers’ Unions and organizing committee of the contest the Book of the Year of the Republic of Karelia. Participants were told about directions of state support provided to publishing in 2013 and support plans to 2014 and innovative resource the Electronic Library of the Authors of Karelia created by the National Library of Karelia. After that an overview dedicated to the Russian market of printed and electronic books was held and participation in Russian book fairs was discussed.
