18/02/2014. A meeting of the club The Old Phonograph Record
In the National Library of Karelia a club The Old Phonograph Record, where people listen to music and learn about musicians of the first half of the last century, has already been working for one year. The club was presented on the 13th of February 2013 and is attended mostly by senior citizens, but there are also younger people.
On the 14th of February a regular meeting of The Old Phonograph Record was held. The event was devoted to a great Soviet composer Boris Mokrousov. On the 27th of February 2014 the 105th anniversary of his birth will be celebrated. This evening the guests of the club were singing and listening to songs by Mokrousov. An old portable gramophone played phonograph records of the 1950s. Among these songs there were “Lonely Accordion”, “The Sacred Stone”, “Vologda”, “Autumn Leaves” and “Lyric Song of Sormovo”.
