11/01/2023. Information support for students' local history project about Robert Rozhdestvensky
In November and December, the name of Robert Rozhdestvensky sounded again in the National Library of Karelia. The local literary project of high school students of the Derzhavin Lyceum is dedicated to him, and the library provided information support to the project.
Lyceum students Victoria Zakharova and Yaroslav Remezov and teacher Varvara Viktorova plan to create a documentary film about the Petrozavodsk period in the life of Robert Rozhdestvensky, famous poet, translator and public figure, as well as about the places of his memory in the city. On the 30th of November and 20th of December, the participants and the head of the project got acquainted with the resources of the National Library dedicated to R. Rozhdestvensky – books published in Petrozavodsk, the first publications in the Karelian periodicals, "Collection of Poems of Young Poets" (Petrozavodsk, 1951) – a valuable edition kept in the library with a single dedicatory inscription made by R. I. Rozhdestvensky to a Karelian poet B. A. Schmidt. The book "Son of Vera: Robert Rozhdestvensky and Karelia" (Petrozavodsk, 2016) was also very interesting, it contains the memoirs of the poet's mother, Vera Rozhdestvenskaya.
On the 8th of December, the National Library of Karelia held a literary meeting “Robert Rozhdestvensky. To the 90th anniversary” for students of the Derzhavin Lyceum. The participants saw book publications, photographs from the collections of the National Library and the National Archives of Karelia, videos of Russian and Karelian television and heard musical works based on the poet's poems dedicated to the city of Petrozavodsk.
We hope that the project of the lyceum will be implemented, and a film will appear in memory of the great poet, who lived an important period of his life in Petrozavodsk.
