14/12/2022. Library as a modern information centre to help education
December 14, 2022:
The participants of the Petrozavodsk City Pedagogical Community of Teachers of Native Languages visited the National Library of Karelia. The meeting with teachers took place within the framework of an agreement on cooperation with the Education Development Centre of the Petrozavodsk City District.
The pedagogical community was presented with the resources of the National Library for ethnocultural education: electronic collections of publications, Internet resources on local history, research competition "Local Historian", literary meetings and walking tours to help the study of national languages and literature of Karelia.
An important component of the work on introducing schoolchildren to the study of Karelian culture is the Karelian-Finnish epic poem Kalevala. Teachers were presented with a variety of successfully implemented library projects to promote Karelian culture and Kalevala. In 2022, employees of the National Library held Kalevala Days at the Petrozavodsk E. Lennrot Finno-Ugric School, secondary schools No. 35 and No. 55, and the Karelian Cadet Corps named after A. Nevsky.
