01/11/2022. The 5th Sungurov Reading Competition at the National Library of Karelia!

In the framework of the project Literature of Karelia for Schoolchildren, the National Library of Karelia held The 5th Sungurov Reading Competition. The event was organized by Petrozavodsk Secondary School No. 38 and the Education Development Center.
Marina Nikishina, Head of the National Library of Karelia, made a welcoming speech and told about an Internet resource The Literary Map of Karelia. A new point for collecting literary information, The Museum of Poets and Writers of the Republic of Karelia, appeared on the map. In the future, the museum page on the virtual map will cover the events taking place in the museum.
The organizers of the competition reminded that the purpose of the event is to popularize and attract students' attention to the work of Karelian poets and writers. The tasks of the competition were not only to get acquainted with the work of the authors, but also to form skills of artistic expressive performance, to identify and develop creative abilities of students.
The 5th Sungurov Reading Competition was attended by 40 students of 4th – 11th grade from 13 schools of Petrozavodsk and the Secondary School of Loukhi. The theme of the creative competition was a line from Elena Pietilyainen's poem "May love never leave us...". Schoolchildren read the works by famous Karelian poets: A. Sungurov, E. Pietilyainen, V. Morozov, P. Sysoev, Y. Linnik, E. Soini, O. Moshnikov and others.
The judges of the competition were Karelian poets and writers (Elena Pietilyainen, Pavel Sysoev, Dmitry Kosmina); Vladimir Maksimkin, Head of the Center for Children's Reading, and Tatyana Yermolina, Librarian of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia; Ekaterina Beim, Director of the Petrozavodsk Secondary School No. 38, Anna Melnikova, Deputy Director for Educational Work, and school teachers (Lyubov Golubeva, Larisa Dvoryankina and Anna Miyna).
