The National Library of Karelia held a presentation of the book by Evgeny Mironichev "The Kandalaksha Direction is of Particular Danger...”: Fighting in the South Polar Region in 1941.
The topic of the Great Patriotic War has been a leading one for Russian researchers for many years. Evgeny Mironichev is a researcher at the Museum of the Karelian Front, a member of the Zapolyarnyi Rubezh Military Historical Club (Murmansk), a member of the Russian Military Historical Society. The author of the book has been studying military operations on the Northern (Karelian) front during the Great Patriotic War for several years. “The Kandalaksha Direction is of Particular Danger...” is the author's first book.
Evgeny Mironichev held a short but enlightening lecture on the importance of the Kandalaksha direction during the Great Patriotic War. He also spoke about his work on the book.
The presentation was attended by Sergey Verigin, Head of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences of Petrozavodsk State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, who is a reviewer of the monograph. He noted the importance of continuing scientific work on this topic.
The National Library of Karelia thanks the author for giving copies of the monograph to the library collection.
