30/09/2022. The National Library of Karelia is the site of the Forum of Young Teachers "Karjalan Nuorus"

Specialists of the National Library of Karelia took part in the “Karjalan Nuorus” Forum. They presented experience of librarians’ work with children's audience. The forum participants were 100 young school and preschool teachers and educators from Petrozavodsk and districts of Karelia.
Liudmila Buletsa, Chief Librarian of the Library Service Department, told teachers how to use online service Reader's Personal Account on the website of the National Library of Karelia. She drew attention to the special resource for teachers Teacher's Room Online, which allows to track the latest literature and periodicals, as well as the opportunity to order magazine articles to e-mail.
Ekaterina Dobrynina, Correctional Teacher, explained in detail how to work with children with disabilities. She spoke about methods to be used to attract attention, new types of presentation of materials in lessons for special children, acquainted with the tactile books collection of the National Library.
Vladimir Maksimkin, Head of the Center for Children's Reading, spoke about library services for children of all ages.
How to get a library card for a preschooler? What is a "Reader Initiation Ceremony"? At what age can you join the board game club? How to use the service of individual recommendations or order a bookbox? What events and competitions can children take part in? The conversation turned out to be lively and detailed: young teachers were interested in the work of the library both as an institution where you can come with a group or class, and as a space for creative recreation, the so-called "third place".
The ”Karjalan Nuorus” Forum was attended by 100 young school and preschool teachers and educators from Petrozavodsk and districts of Karelia. In addition to the National Library of Karelia, the partners and co-organizers of the forum are: the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk State University, the Karelian Institute for the Development of Education, "Teacher of the Republic of Karelia" organization, the children's quantorium "Sampo", the National Museum, the Kizhi Museum, Kim Andreev Ecological and Biological Center.
