30/09/2022. The first in the Republic of Karelia Children's Model Library of a new generation opened in Kondopoga

In Kondopoga, the grand opening of Kondopoga Children's Model Library took place.
Today, Kondopoga Children's Library is the first children's model library of a new generation among 7 model libraries of Karelia created within the framework of the national project "Culture".
After the repair, the appearance and interior of the library have changed. Modern interactive equipment and comfortable furniture, new computer, multimedia, sound and copying equipment were installed, and the book fund was significantly updated.
The library has a modern library space with functional zoning of the territory and the possibility of its transformation based on the needs of the local community: a cyberspace for teenagers with a knowledge lab, an art workshop, a beauty room, a cinema room and a computer class, Children's TV, spaces for individual work, exhibition spaces and playgrounds. At the library, a favourable, comfortable and accessible environment has been created for all categories of citizens, incl. people with disabilities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Galina Gorelikova, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia; Varvara Lebedeva, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia; Evgeny Skryabin, Acting Head of the Administration of Kondopoga District; employees, readers and partners of the library.
On behalf of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, a project office in the priority direction "Library Science", Marina Nikishina, Head of the National Library of Karelia, congratulated employees of the library and residents of Kondopoga.
The solemn event ended with an excursion to the renovated library.
