28/09/2022. Time to read in a new way! Model library opened in Kalevala District

In the Republic of Karelia, as a part of the implementation of the national project "Culture", Arkhippa Perttunen Central Model Library of Kalevala National District was opened.
Arkhippa Perttunen Central Model Library of Kalevala National District performs a very important function: it preserves the cultural memory of the indigenous population, ensuring the continuity of the traditions of the Northern Karelians, therefore, the opening of the renovated library in the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia is especially valuable.
The creation of the first model library in Kalevala District is the result of a clear and professional interaction between the republican and municipal authorities, the regional project office and the library staff.
Thanks to the original design project of artist-designer Ekaterina Zharina, a unique and original library was opened; the library "has its own face", a multifunctional space for children, teenagers, youth, middle-aged people and the older generation, taking into account their diverse socio-cultural needs.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sergey Solovyov, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, Yuliya Kononova, Deputy Head of Kalevala Municipal District, employees, readers and partners of the library.
On behalf of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, a project office in the priority direction "Library Science", and Library Association of the Republic of Karelia, Inna Nazukova, Chief Methodologist, congratulated employees of the library and residents of Kalevala.
At the solemn ceremony, the folk ensemble of kantele players (under the direction of Y. Gladyshev) and the theatre studio Krasnyi parus (under the direction of N.F. Rastrigina) of the Kalevala Children's Art House have performed.
