06/06/2022. Pushkin Day of Russia and Russian Language Day at the National Library of Karelia
June 6, 2022:
The National Library of Karelia invited everyone to celebrate Pushkin Day of Russia and Russian Language Day.
According to the already established tradition, Flowers for the Poet action took place on Pushkin Day. On this day, admirers of the poet's works gathered at the monument to Alexander Pushkin, among them there were people of different ages - children and adults, students and schoolchildren. Together we recalled our favourite poems by Pushkin. Yelena Pietilyainen, Chairman of the Karelian Regional Branch of the Union of Writers of Russia and Editor-in-Chief of the Sever magazine, read her poems about Pushkin. Pupils and teachers of Petrozavodsk School #10 prepared for this holiday a literary and musical composition based on the poems and romances by Alexander Sergeevich. After laying flowers at the monument to the great poet, the participants in the action went on a walking excursion Let’s Read Streets like Books along Pushkinskaya Street.
At this time, several events began on the premises of the library. The heroes of Pushkin's fairy tales invited young readers to the creative laboratory of the author of their favourite fairy tales!
High school students at that time tested their knowledge on Hi, Einstein! intellectual quiz. The questions concerned both the Russian language and the works by A. S. Pushkin.
At the educational program Book in a Book, the most enthusiastic fans of literature tried not only to penetrate the secrets of Pushkin's texts, but to study the literary predilections of the heroes of European and Russian literature of the 18th and 19th century.
For all the participants of the holiday, there was Portrait for Memory master class by Elena Fedorova, and everyone could make a keychain with Pushkin’s portrait and catchphrases from A. S. Pushkin's favourite fairy tales.
For those who could not come to the holiday, we created virtual programs of Pushkin's Day. All virtual venues of the Pushkin holiday are freely available on the library website!
