The National Library of Karelia took part in the All-Russian event Library Night 2022.
The program was dedicated to the culture of Russia and Karelia. Representatives of different peoples have lived on the territory of Karelia for centuries. The influence of their customs and traditions determined the originality of the culture of the region.
The collections of the National Library of Karelia are a unique book depository of this heritage. On the Library Night, the National Library of Karelia invited everyone on a great literary journey, and the book was the main guide on this path. The Library Night offered to visitors live reading, intellectual games and mystical transformations, master classes and positive emotions!
Let’s tell briefly about the most interesting and important things.
How is the image of an epic hero born? How to transfer it to a computer program correctly? Why it is difficult to visualize Karelian runes? The answers to these questions were sought and found at a creative meeting with Dmitry Dmitriev and Tatyana Berdasheva.
The personal exhibition of Vladimir Larionov, Honored Worker of Culture of Karelia, was solemnly opened, and it happened on his birthday. The exhibition is luxurious. It truly immersed the audience in the magical and mysterious world of the East.
In the next room, a meeting of creators from the SoNeT literary club was devoted to the "Secrets of the White Nights" and their charm. A white night is a mystical symbol of Karelia; it connects us with all the best that is in Karelia - its nature, its history, its culture, its very soul.
For admirers of foreign literature, the educational program “Russia as an Impression” worked on the Library Night. Its participants went on a historical journey through the pages of travel diaries of writers from different eras and countries.
The creative meeting “Line as Flower, Line as River” gave a pleasant acquaintance with a wonderful interlocutor, poet, translator and scientist Elena Soini and a feeling of touching a real and true talent.
