25/05/2022. Seminar "Languages of the Peoples of Russia in the System of General Education of the Russian Federation" at the National Library of Karelia

At the National Library of Karelia, a regional seminar "Languages of the Peoples of Russia in the System of General Education of the Russian Federation" took place. The organizers of the seminar were the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Karelia and the Karelian Educational Development Institute.
In the era of globalization, the problem of preserving the native language becomes even more acute. It is not only about preserving the national languages of the peoples of Russia, but also about the Russian language. In the first part of the seminar, the implementation of the action plan of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation on the implementation of the Concept of Teaching the Native Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation was touched upon, federal and regional aspects of the implementation of the plan were considered.
There were reports summarizing the experience of work at the federal level. Karelian scientists and public figures shared their experience in this area.
During the second part of the seminar, the main directions in the work on the formation of cultural competence in the process of teaching native languages in extracurricular activities were considered. Teachers and employees of preschool institutions presented the best regional pedagogical practices and, using specific examples, showed how the preservation and development of indigenous languages is being implemented.
At the seminar, Alexander Larionov, Head of the Department of National and Local Literature and Bibliography of the National Library of Karelia, made a report on national languages in the context of the activities of the National Library.
