23/05/2022. Read Streets like Books! Walking excursions for all lovers of Petrozavodsk history
Schoolchildren and students of Petrozavodsk are actively visiting excursions of the project Read the Streets like Books of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia under the Pushkin Card Program.
On the eve of Victory Day, students of Pavel Corgan Gymnasium # 17 of Petrozavodsk and the Karelian Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration took part in the excursion "Memory of the Great Patriotic War on the Streets of Petrozavodsk". They visited monuments and memorials of Petrozavodsk, the City of Military Glory, heard biographies of Karelian writers participated in the Great Patriotic War and honored the memory of the Heroes of the Soviet Union - the soldiers of the Karelian Front and all the famous and unknown soldiers of the Victory.
During the excursion "The Key Persons of the Olonets Governorate in the Historical Memory of the City”, future teachers – students of the Department of Physical Education of the Petrozavodsk Pedagogical College – learned a lot about leaders of the region in the pre-revolutionary period (before 1917) of the history of Petrozavodsk, saw memorable places and buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries, which are the historical and cultural heritage of Karelia.
