A creative meeting with an artist and writer Dmitry Dmitriev took place in the conference hall of the National Library of Karelia.
How to create an image of an epic hero? Where can you draw inspiration for such a difficult topic? Why is the epic heritage of Karelia actual in spite of everything? Dmitry Dmitriev spoke in detail about his work on the new edition of the epic poem Kalevala retold by Alexandra Lyubarskaya and the new book Rune Tales (a collection of runes by Arkhippa Perttunen retold and adapted for children). The artist shared his creative ideas, thoughts about whether it is possible to create a cartoon based on his works.
The meeting with Dmitry Dmitriev was a great end to the Children's Book Week 2022, which was very active and useful!
