04/06/2021. The results of the work of the XIII Summer School for Rural Librarians of Karelia
May 31 – June 4, 2021:
The National Library of Karelia together with the College of Culture and Arts of the Republic of Karelia with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia held the Republican Summer Seminar for Rural Librarians of the Republic of Karelia "Modern Rural Library" (XIII Summer School for Rural Librarians of Karelia).
This year, the school was dedicated to the topic “Course for Renewal: Actual Directions of Development of Rural Libraries in Karelia”.
During the work of the school, the following issues were considered:
- Children's Reading Center: A New Format of Library Services for Children
- Information Resources of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia – for Residents of the Region
- Library as an Information Environment for Users with Disabilities
- Reading as a Way of Life: Successful Library Practices to Promote Book and Reading
- Library is the Territory for Creativity: Promotion Experience
- Library as a Center for Cultural Diversity
- Local History Resources and Services of the National Library – for the Inhabitants of the Republic
- Professional Competence of a Modern Librarian.
The participants learned a lot of new information, received practical recommendations and consultations on issues of the organization of activities of rural libraries and the popularization of the book and reading among the rural people, took part on professional trips to model libraries.
On the 4th of June the XIII Summer School for Rural Librarians of Karelia finished its work. The College of Culture and Arts of the Republic of Karelia gave books and certificates on professional development to the participants.
