01/04/2021. The National Library of Karelia summed up the results of the Regional stage of the All-Russian competition for young readers "Live Classics”
In 2021, the All-Russian project "Live Classics” turns 10 years. For a whole decade, the competition for young readers has contributed to an increase in the interest of schoolchildren in reading fiction literature, finding and supporting children gifted in the field of theatrical art and public speaking.
In total, 75 works of participants from all districts of the republic were presented at the regional stage of the competition. The performances of the winners of the municipal (district) stage were evaluated by a competent jury. The Chairman of the regional jury of the competition is Valery Ananyin, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Karelia and a theater director.
Jury members: Svetlana Zaalova, writer, educator of Children’s Theatre Centre, an Honored Journalist of the Republic of Karelia; Polina Chueva, a radio host of the Russia-Karelia Radio, a former participant in the competition ”Live Classics”; Natalya Yanina, an educator of the children’s and teenagers newspaper ”Moya Gazeta+”; Galina Nikishina, a teacher of Russian and Literature, the Deputy Director of the Chalna secondary school (Pryazha District).
Three winners of the regional stage of the competition: Valerya Melnikova (Petrozavodsk), Anna Yegorova (Petrozavodsk) and Polina Kuznetsova (Segezha District) will take part in the final of the All-Russian in the International Children’s’ Center Artek. Letters of thanks were awarded to teachers, jury members and organizers of all stages of the competition.
Another present for the participants was meeting with famous writers. In the framework of the closing ceremony of the Regional stage of the competition, two meeting were held: a meeting with a writer and a screenwriter of patriotic films Ivan Naumov (Moscow) and a member of the Union of Bookmen of Russia Sergey Chekmayev.
