29/04/2021. The presentation of the audio version of the Mari poem ”Yugorno”

The National Library of Karelia held a presentation of the audio version of the Mari poem ”Yugorno”. The big epic poem ”Yugorno” by Anatoly Spiridonov is one of the most significant works revealing the Mari national character, it is rightfully called the poetic encyclopedia of the life of the Mari people. For many years, the Regional Public Organization "Mari of Karelia" has been working in Karelia under the leadership of M. A. Asessorov. "Mari of Karelia" develops the culture and language of the Mari people, and preserves the unique heritage of the Mari people.
In 2021 on the initiative of Mikhail Asessorov, an audio version of the poem "Yugorno" was published: representatives of the organization together with a professional announcer Vadim Pugachev have been worked on the audio version for three months.
The participants in the meeting at the National Library of Karelia had a unique opportunity to learn about how the audio version of ”Yugorno” was created, to get acquainted with traditions and customs of the Mari, listen to songs, and enjoy the enchanting sound of Mari musical instruments. That evening, a teleconference Petrozavodsk-Yoshkar-Ola was held for the audience of the presentation. According to Mikhail Asessorov, these meetings expand the horizons of the republic’s inhabitants, help them to see all the colors of the national palette and, most importantly, become kinder, gain not only new knowledge, but also excellent positive emotions.
There are close ties between Karelia and Mari El in the field of culture and interethnic relations, and the joint presentation of the Mari poem "Yugorno" will certainly start a new stage of the cooperation development between two regions.
